Research and development

Each activity performed at the ISSeP enables it to acquire more expertise. The latter is used for research works, whether this is initiated and financed by the ISSeP or forms part of a research programme such as INTERRE, FEDER, ESFRI, etc.

Financing using own funds is called “Moerman mechanism”. Article 117 of the law of 8 August 2003 (article 275 paragraph 3 of the CIR) organises a system for the partial payment of withholding tax in favour of employers employing researchers, so that any sums not paid are reused to finance new research activities. Thanks to these funds, many research projects have been launched since January 2013.

In addition, in recent years the ISSeP has increased its involvement in projects financed by regional, national, and European research projects.
